The New York Giants fell short to the New York Jets on Sunday. To make matters worse, injuries plagued them. While the media came into the locker room, Saquon Barkley went into the X-Ray room after getting banged up,” per Kimberly Martin of Yahoo Sports.

It remains to be seen when and how Barkley sustained the injury that caused him to be checked after the game. Following the loss, head coach Pat Shurmur did not elaborate on the injury to New York's superstar running back.

Of course, Giants fans are holding their breath while they wait for the results of the X-Ray. There will undoubtedly be more information on Barkley as the night unfolds.

Earlier in the season, Barkley suffered a high-ankle sprain that sidelined him for three weeks. Subsequently, the initial belief is that Barkley could have re-injury his prior ailment sustained in Week 3.

Against the Jets, the dynamic running back had arguably the worst performance of his career. Barkley finished the game with 13 attempts for one yard on the ground. Along with his abysmal rushing day, Barkley also had five receptions for 30 yards.

This season, the second-year running back now has 402 rushing yards on 101 carries and two touchdowns. Through the air, he's only been able to haul in 33 catches for 258 yards and one score.

Besides Barkley, the Giants also suffered injuries to left tackle Nate Solder and cornerback Janoris Jenkins during Sunday's game. Without a doubt, New York's bye week in Week 11 couldn't have come at a better time.
