NFL players are considered by many to be the most athletic group of people on the planet. However, third-year New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley is definitely a cut above the rest. SaQuads showed his freak athleticism once again by jumping out of a pool, with a kettle-bell in hand at that.
Sports Center posted the video of the New York Giant on Twitter:
Saquon Barkley was already a straight up beast even before he set foot in the league. His workout sessions with his teammates in Penn State were always a viral hit on social media. Those long hours at the gym would eventually pay dividends as he closed a phenomenal three-year run with the Nittany Lions. He was a two-time Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year in consecutive seasons and a Consensus All-American in 2017.
The New York Giants selected Barkley with the second overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. His explosive play in the collegiate ranks eventually translated to the pro league. He was embarrassing defenses left and right in his rookie year. Barkley ended his rookie season garnering a Pro Bowl appearance. He also made the PFWA All-Rookie Team, and was named the 2018 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Saquon had 217 rushing attempts for 1,003 yards to go with 6 scored touchdowns. However, his performance was still not enough to power the Giants back to relevance. The team finished the 2019 season on a 4-12 note and was only a game ahead of the division cellar-dweller Washington Football Team.
Saquon Barkley and the rest of his team will enter the upcoming season under new head coach Joe Judge. The new reign in New York will initially be tested by the Pittsburgh Steelers on September 14 at the MetLife Stadium.
