Daniel Jones is set to make his first start in the league as a quarterback. And this comes with a lot of great expectations and excitement for the first-rounder. But nobody is as excited for Jones' start as Saquon Barkley.

“I’m excited, but just more excited for him,” Barkley said per Greg Joyce of the New York Post. “I’m going to do whatever it takes, and I know we’re all going to do whatever it takes, to try to have his first start go the way we all want it to go. Our mindset this week is winning.”

Jones is set to be the future of the New York Giants' franchise as he starts it in Week 3 against the rival Dallas Cowboys. However, it will come at the expense of seeing longtime starter and two-time Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning being benched. When asked what advice he would give to Jones for his first start of the season, he kept it simple.

“Be you. You don’t gotta be anybody else besides yourself. You’re here for a reason. You don’t gotta impress anybody else. The only people you gotta impress are the people in this locker room, the people in this facility. He already did that because one, they’re the team that drafted him and two, he already got much respect from us on this team just the way he carries himself as a person and his work ethic.”

There's no denying that Barkley is trying his best to help Jones out in every way he can. And with the entire Giants team behind him, Jones should have a successful first start in the NFL.
