The New York Giants are eager to start the new era to their history on a strong note, and fans know that they'll be making aggressive moves over the offseason. One of the offseason targets has been revealed to be Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Demarcus Robinson.

The link between the two sides was first revealed by Matt Lombardo of nj.com, who revealed details about the Giants' interest in acquiring him during free agency. If the acquisition is successfull, he would be a great addition to the team.

One of the reasons why he's thought to be a great fit for the Giants is the fact that he offers something different to the table:

While Robinson lacks the high-end speed that Darius Slayton injected into the Giants’ offense as a rookie in 2019, he offers the versatility of being able to make plays lined up out wide or in the slot. Still, when asked to run the nine-route, Robinson produced in a big way for quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, while averaging 14 yards per reception.

Another reason for the acquisition is his leadership in the locker room. The Giants' offense will be carried by a 23-year-old Daniel Jones by the start of the 2020 campaign. While he's shown his leadership chops last season, he will also need to focus on improving himself. Having Robinson in the team will reduce his leadership load.

Finally, this move might happen because the Chiefs have an excess of wide receivers on their team. Robinson was used sparingly throughout the season, and he'll be looking for a new place where he can thrive.

This move makes sense for all of the parties involved. Now, it's up to the front office to actually make the move happen.
