New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley established himself as one of the NFL's elite players as a rookie. He has already given a sneak peek into what is potentially to come heading into the 2019 NFL season.

Barkley showed plenty of promise as an every-down back last season. He is solidifying that notion after making a stellar touchdown grab in practice, via NFL on FOX:

Plays like this are a reminder of just how talented Barkley is. The Giants caught plenty of flak for taking a running back with the second overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. Fortunately, he has quickly been able to justify the decision thanks to the impact he can have on the offense as both a runner and receiver.

Barkley displayed his versatile skill set by serving as the central force in the struggling Giants offense. There is no question he carried the run game with 1,307 yards and 11 touchdowns. However, he was also an integral part of their passing attack after finishing as the team's leading pass-catcher with a whopping 91 receptions.

It is safe to assume that Barkley will resume his spot as the workhorse in New York going into the 2019 campaign. This will likely include a substantial role in the passing game once again now that the receiving corps is in a state of flux due to a combination of injuries and wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.'s departure this offseason.

Fortunately, the video provides proof that the 22-year-old appears to be more than up to the task.
