Rory McIlroy entered this year's Masters Tournament looking to complete the career grand slam. He had already won The Open Championship, the U.S. Open and The PGA Championship, but has not yet worn the Green Jacket. He entered the tournament this year among the favorites to do so. Unfortunately for McIlroy, he had a poor start to the tournament and was unable to complete the career grand slam. He did however earn his own “Tin Cup” moment on the 18th hole Sunday.

Entering the 18th hole, McIlroy was 7-under for the day. He then hit in an incredible bunker shot to hole out for birdie to finish his final round at 8-under, 64. That ties the PGA Masters record for best score in the final round of The Masters. He ultimately finished in second place behind eventual winner Scottie Scheffler.

McIlroy played near perfect golf Sunday. He carded the only bogey-free round of the entire tournament, by anyone.

Meanwhile, Tiger Woods struggled more and more as the tournament wore on. After an opening round 1-under 71, Woods went on to shoot 74, 78, 78 the final three days to finish at +13. The back-to-back 78's were the worst rounds at The Masters in Woods' illustrious career.

Much of that likely had to do with his recovery from the car accident only 14 months ago. Woods nearly lost his leg in the car crash in February, 2021.

But this day and this tournament belonged to rising star Scottie Scheffler. He lead nearly wire-to-wire, dominating the course in Augusta, Georgia, taking home the Green Jacket at 10-under par.
