The Green Bay Packers came away with a hard-fought 31-24 victory over the Patrick Mahomes-less Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football. It wasn't the prettiest game for Matt LaFleur's football team, but they were able to get the job done nonetheless. Following that win, the Packers moved to 7-1 on the year thus far.

To say that the start of the season has been impressive would be an understatement. Starting a new era of football can come with growing pains at times, but that has not been the case for Green Bay.

Aaron Rodgers and company finally have the new offense firing on all cylinder even with Davante Adams being sidelined due to a toe injury. That hasn't made them shy away from anything. In fact, the offense has been improving with him on the sidelines.

All of that being said, what three things did we learn about the Packers in their win over the Chiefs?

3. The Running Backs Are The Best The Packers Have Had

For quite some time, the Packers have relied way too much on Rodgers and his arm. Now, they have two running backs who are more than capable of making big plays and taking the pressure off of the passing game.

Against the Chiefs, the Packers saw Aaron Jones go beast mode with 67 yards on 13 carries and seven receptions for 159 yards and two touchdowns. Jamaal Williams also made an impact with 22 yards and a touchdown on the ground and three catches for 14 yards and another score. Those two guys are going to be a huge part of the Packers making a deep playoff run.

2. Green Bay's Defense Still Has A Lot Of Work To Do

Early in the season, the Packers were viewed to have one of the league's top defenses. They were playing extremely well against the pass and run, but that has slowed down in a big way.

Without Mahomes, the Packers were expected to handle the Chiefs much easier than what ended up happening. Instead, they gave up a massive game to Matt Moore. If the Packers want to be legitimate Super Bowl contenders, they need to figure things out on the defensive side of the ball.

1. Aaron Rodgers Is Back To MVP Contention

Finally, the Packers could not be more excited with the production that they have been receiving from Rodgers. He completed 23 of his 33 pass attempts for 305 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions.

On the season so far, Rodgers has put up big-time numbers that make him the front-runner for many to win the MVP. He has completed 65.4 percent of his passes for 2,324 yards, 16 touchdowns, and two interceptions. Those numbers show that prime Rodgers is back and he is making it clear that he is here to stay.
