Grizzlies’ Grayson Allen responds to Hawks star Trae Young’s dirty play accusation
The Memphis Grizzlies young shooting guard, Grayson Allen, has had some trouble with his discipline playing basketball since his days at Duke University. Allen was seen throwing temper tantrums and intentionally tripping players when he was frustrated. As a result of his attitude, Allen fell in the draft.
The Utah Jazz took a chance on Allen, taking him 21st in the draft. After Allen was traded to the Grizzlies, he has turned out to be a solid rotational player for Memphis, contributing 8 points, 3 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game this season. Allen is known more for his impact on the defensive end and physicality as a shooting guard. Unfortunately, it’s his physicality that has gotten him into trouble.
The Grizzlies took on the Atlanta Hawks just one day after Christmas and Grayson Allen was called out by Atlanta superstar point guard, Trae Young, for making a questionable play on the ball.

After watching the video, it’s unclear what Trae Young is referring to as a dirty play.
Grayson Allen did not let this go and even decided to clap back on Twitter.
Damn that must’ve really really hurt. I’m sorry. I hope you’re okay https://t.co/Uwyl7s2Q2v

Taking the sarcastic approach to a very minor situation that could have escalated well beyond what it really was. Even Grizzlies teammate Jaren Jackson Jr, spoke up on Twitter to help clear the air about Allen’s defense.
The Atlanta Hawks ended up winning the game, so Trae Young is the one who got the last laugh. The Grizzlies have started the 2020 season 0-2, while the Hawks have come out 2-0, looking like one of the most improved teams in the NBA.
The Hawks and Grizzlies have two of the most luminous talents in the NBA, Atlanta having Young and Memphis having Ja Morant. That talent, combined with some spice and intensity, could create a new-age Southern rivalry in the world of pro basketball.
