Ja Morant is set to make one of the biggest decisions of his life next summer as he enters the final year of his rookie contract with the Memphis Grizzlies. The 22-year-old is without a doubt the cornerstone superstar of the Grizzlies right now, which is why they are fully expected to table a huge offer for Morant next year.

Morant himself has spoken out about his future in Memphis and at this point, it is clear that the former Rookie of the Year has every intention of signing on the dotted line once that extension is offered:

“Me, I’m not a big fan on the leaving,” Morant said, via Joe Vardon of The Athletic.

While it may not be a definitive statement saying that he’s staying in Memphis for the foreseeable future, Morant’s message here is loud and clear. He clearly doesn’t want to leave, so now it’s up to the Grizzlies to offer him a deal that will convince him to stay.

Morant went on to say that he intends to give it all he’s got for his team:

“As long as I’m here, I’m here; that’s my focus,” he said. “Regardless, I’m going to make the best of any situation, continue to just go out with my teammates, win games, play in front of our fans and do whatever I can to continue to bring love.”

The big question now is whether or not the Grizzlies will offer Morant a max extension. He appears to have done enough to warrant max-level money so all things considered, this should be a done deal. Right?
