Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant is undoubtedly one of the best young point guards in the NBA. Morant thinks he's one of the five best point guards in the league, which is a bit more arguable.

In an interview with Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Grizzlies youngster called himself a top-five point guard and then named the other four on his list:

Steph (Curry). I’m a big Chris Paul fan. I’d say Dame (Lillard)and (Russell) Westbrook. It’s tough. The point guard position is so loaded. Some guys have to get left out.

As the Grizzlies phenom says, “some guys have to get left out,” but it's interesting that Russell Westbrook is over Luka Doncic (maybe he doesn't think of Luka as the point guard?), Kyrie Irving and Trae Young on this list. Most people would probably take those players over Morant himself, but it's no surprise that he's calling himself a top-five point guard. Having that kind of confidence is only natural for a young star.

Looking at ESPN's Top 100 list, Morant is behind Doncic, Stephen Curry, Damian Lillard, Chris Paul, Young, Irving,  Ben Simmons and Russell Westbrook, according to their point guard designations. Jrue Holiday is ahead of Morant as well but is listed as a shooting guard, though he primarily played point guard for the Milwaukee Bucks last season.

There's definitely an argument to be made for Morant being a top-10 point guard. A top-five one is aggressive right now, but it wouldn't be a surprise if the Grizzlies star hits that level at some point in the very near future. The point guard is hoping to take Memphis up a notch in 2021-22 after a stellar campaign last season.
