The NBA just got another young endorser for its COVID-19 vaccine push, as Memphis Grizzlies injured forward Jaren Jackson Jr. urged his social media followers to receive the dose on Thursday.

Jackson, who has yet to play a single game this season as he recovers from a torn meniscus, wants to be COVID-19 worry-free upon his impending return to the court for the Grizz. His presence has indeed been missed by Memphis this year, as they continue to scrap in the West despite not having their big man in the middle.

The 7-foot slotman is a building block for the Grizzlies' future alongside Ja Morant after showing great promise in his first two seasons with the team. He displayed great strides to his game in his sophomore campaign in 2019-20, averaging  17.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks in 57 games before his injury.

Memphis has been understandably cautious with Jackson's situation and has not rushed his recovery. His endorsement of the COVID-19 vaccine, meanwhile, is indeed great news for the league, who are hoping other young players will follow suit.

The NBA has been rolling out its COVID-19 vaccine advocacies in recent months, starting with its older personnel, moving to its players. San Antonio Spurs legendary coach Gregg Popovich is one of its most outspoken advocates.

While the league has affirmed its stance that it will not force its players to have mandatory COVID-19 shots, it's clear that they want to have as many vaccinated players as possible. Commissioner Adam Silver has confirmed incentives for those players who received the shot. Heck, even the Miami Heat are rewarding fans who got vaccinated with their own section during live games.
