The Great Casspi is now officially a member of the Memphis Grizzlies. Nearly two weeks after agreeing to a one-year deal with the Grizzlies, Omri Casspi finally puts pen to paper on Wednesday, according to the team’s official website.

Memphis Grizzlies General Manager Chris Wallace today announced that the team has signed forward Omri Casspi (OME-ree). Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Casspi is the latest addition to the Grizzlies’ crowded small forward position that already has the likes of Kyle Anderson, Dillon Brooks, and Chandler Parsons. Anderson, who entered the summer as a restricted free agent, is expected to be atop the pecking order of that group after signing a four-year deal worth $37.2 million that the San Antonio Spurs declined to match. Brooks, meanwhile, is headed to his second year in the league after a decent rookie campaign in Memphis. As for Parsons, his onerous remains a headache for the Grizzlies, who failed to trade the swingman in last month’s NBA Draft day.

The presence of those three wingmen leaves Omri Casspi with not much hope that he’ll get ample playing time in Memphis, though, the team can certainly utilize the experience and versatility that the 30-year-old NBA journeyman will provide.

Casspi signed a one-year deal in 2017 with the Golden State Warriors but was cut by the team just before the playoffs. In 53 games with the Warriors last season, he averaged 5.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.0 assists. He also shot 58.0 percent from the field and 45.5 percent from behind the arc.
