The Memphis Grizzlies have exceeded any fan's wildest expectations this season, as they currently sit at 33-17, good for third place in the Western Conference. Such shocking success certainly factors into their possible trade deadline plans, as they could now view themselves as legitimate contenders for a championship, though they still have an eye towards the future as well. Memphis' trade deadline plans were revealed in the latest Grizzlies rumors, via NBA reporter Marc Stein.

The Grizzlies don't want to do anything that hampers flexibility for their offseason plans but are said to be searching for wing depth to boost their postseason prospects after unexpectedly surging to No. 3 in the West.

Per Stein's latest Grizzlies rumors, Memphis is in the market for wing depth via a possible trade, though they don't want to disrupt any offseason flexibility by making a transaction right now.

This makes sense, as the Grizzlies' surge up the standing has made them very much a factor in the Western Conference. To make some noise in the playoffs though, Memphis will need to acquire a much-needed wing player, as their depth has taken a hit with the Dillon Brooks injury as well as with Kyle Anderson in the health and safety protocols.

It's not clear who Memphis could seek out in a possible trade deadline deal, though these rumors show that the Grizzlies' front office is moving forward with very calculated plans.
