The Atlanta Hawks haven't been playing very well this season, but they've improved recently, and they're presently 23-25 and the Eastern Conference's 10th seed.

Trae Young and John Collins have been key players in helping them win several games, but they've also had a few other players step up for them, one of them being Onyeka Okongwu.

The Hawks' backup center has been a big reason why they've been able to win some games this season, and it appears like he's only scraping the surface of how effective he can be in this league.

According to Michael Scotto, the Hawks center is one of just three players in the NBA currently averaging 9 points, 6 rebounds, and shooting over 70% on the season.

Michael Scotto also reported that the Hawks center had this to say,

“I feel like I'm a Bam[Adebayo]-type of player. I think with time, I can shoot the mid-range jumper and do the things he does. Another one that meets the eye for me is Draymond Green.”

Atlanta will be hoping that he can keep playing this kind of basketball for the rest of the season, as it will undoubtedly assist them towards the conclusion of the season. Atlanta had a similar start to this season last year and still made it to the Eastern Conference Finals.

They obviously weren't anticipating this start to the season, and it surely isn't what they were hoping for, but the season isn't over yet, and they can absolutely replicate what they did last year.
