Atlanta Hawks center Clint Capela naturally has a certain swagger about him and it showed in his opinion on who the NBA's top rebounder was.

The stats back up his confident claim, as he leads the league in rebounding with 14.2 per game. Naysayers will claim that this was only possible, since Los Angeles Lakers center Andre Drummond, who led the league in boards in four of the last five seasons played very few games this season. Nevertheless, player movement and such are part of the game.

It is impressive that the Swiss man can gobble up so many boards, despite sharing the court with John Collins, who is no slouch in collecting rebounds himself.

Capela is leaner than most fives, but he more than makes up for this with his functional strength, length, and bounce. All these combined with his instincts and nose for the ball have made him elite at rebounding. On top of his rebounding prowess, Capela is one of the best shot blockers in the league and averages 2.2 per contest, a rate just behind Myles Turner and Rudy Gobert.

Capela is a vital piece of the Hawks and a big reason, figuratively and literally, why they in the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference with a 30-25 record.

He is under contract until the 2022-2023 season and is just 26-years old, but should he leave the team by then, Atlanta can rest easy knowing they have 20-year old Onyeka Okongwu waiting in the wings. The rookie can pick up a thing or two from Capela.
