It looks like second-year power forward John Collins might be making his season debut for the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday against the Indiana Pacers.

John Collins has been out with mild inflammation and soreness in his left ankle. However, the Hawks released their injury report on Friday and Collins is listed as probable for the first time this season.

The Hawks selected Collins with the 19th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft out of Wake Forest University. During his rookie season last year, Collins played in 74 regular season games and averaged 10.5 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists while shooting 57.6 percent from the field and 71.5 percent from the free-throw line.

The Hawks are 3-12 on the season. If Collins plays on Saturday versus Indiana, he'll likely come off the bench so the team can ease him back into the rotation. With the 21-year-old big man out, Atlanta has relied on the likes of Alex Len, Dewayne Dedmon and Omari Spellman for help in the frontcourt.

This is a rebuilding year in Atlanta. The Hawks aren't good enough to win a lot of games this season. Getting Collins back, though, is a step in the right direction for the future of the franchise.
