The Atlanta Hawks and John Collins were desperately attempting to pull out a win against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday. They had lost their last two games and needed a boost at home to pull them out of their recent slump.

Monday's game was critical for the Hawks, and it produced a few highlight reel moments. John Collins made sure of that after throwing down a one-handed lob from Kevin Huerter.

Collins has been dominant so far this season for the Hawks. He's averaging 15.7 points and 7.3 rebounds coming into Monday's contest. He's also broke his career high of five blocks during the contest against the Timberwolves as well.

While his numbers are a slight dip from last season's production, his play has been a leading factor into the successes that the Hawks have been able to produce.

Even so, the 23-year broke headlines after the Hawks front office failed to come to an agreement on a rookie extension for Collins, who believes he's a max-worthy player. As such, Collins will be using most of this season to prove that he's worth such a high dollar amount as he did last season.

There's also the slight possibility that the Hawks could be looking to part ways with the Wake Forest standout prior to the offseason. If they're able to field a quality offer from one of the teams that have had their eyes on Collins' availability, a deal could definitely be materialized before the trade deadline.

The Hawks will stay home to face the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday following their Monday win over the Timberwolves.
