For Kevin Huerter of the Atlanta Hawks, the team doesn't need to add more free agents, noting that the current ‘core group' is very capable of racking up the victories.

Per Alex Kennedy of Hoops Hype, Huerter harked back to the ‘old days' where teams nurtured homegrown talent and not necessarily flocked to the free-agent market to build a contending team. However, the 21-year-old did acknowledge that adding free agents is imperative. However, they need to build a winning culture before everything else:

“Hopefully; any team that wins becomes pretty attractive to free agents. You see that happen a lot. But for me, our core group of guys could and should be enough for us. That’s the way that winning teams are built, at least in the old days. When you want to want to build something that lasts, it’s homegrown guys. But, again, hopefully if we win, [players will want to sign here] and we can figure out which positions we need moving forward. Adding free agents down the line won’t be a bad thing, but first you need to win and then everything else comes with it.”

The Hawks are seen as one of the most talented young teams in the NBA today. Apart from Huerter, the Hawks have Trae Young, John Collins, lottery picks De'Adnre Hunter and Cam Reddish, and veteran forward Jabari Parker. They have one of the best upsides among young NBA teams today. From the looks of it, they just need time to develop together and like Huerter said, add more pieces to complete the puzzle if necessary.
