Atlanta Hawks fans held their breaths on Friday night as their promising guard Trae Young went down with a scary ankle injury against the Milwaukee Bucks at the Philips Arena. The 21-year-old Oklahoma Sooners product, who has already missed some time this season due to an ankle sprain, had to be carted off the floor and did not return in Atlanta's 86-112 defeat.

Young's draft mate Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks, who just got back after missing four games due to an ankle injury as well, took to Twitter to express his support for Young.

Although the pair went neck-and-neck in last year's Rookie of the Year race, Luka Doncic and Trae Young has developed a mutual admiration from one another.

The Hawks rising star, in fact, also offered some support for his Slovenian counterpart when Doncic suffered a similar injury earlier this month against the Miami Heat.

After promising rookie seasons, both Doncic and Young has stamped their class as the best two players from their draft class and are enjoying All-Star worthy numbers in just their second year.

Doncic has inserted himself to the MVP conversation with averages of 29.1 points, 9.6 rebounds and 8.8 assists, while Young has been lighting up the scoreboard with 29.0 points on 44.3 percent shooting from the field and 36.6 percent from downtown, to go along with 8.5 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 1.3 steals.

But as far as team success goes, Doncic is miles ahead from Young, as Dallas currently holds the fifth spot in the West with a 20-10 slate. The dejected Hawks, meanwhile, now hold the worst record in the league at 6-26 after losing their ninth consecutive game.
