It’s okay to laugh at yourself sometimes. And that’s exactly what the Atlanta Hawk did Saturday night, when the team’s official Twitter account appeared to show their chops for self-deprecation.

The Hawks absorbed a 112-78 blowout loss at the hands of the visiting Toronto Raptors. The game was decided long before the final buzzer sounded. The Raptors had a 28-point lead at the half and expanded that point cushion to 41 at the end of the third quarter. At this point, the only people interested in watching the game were those with bets on the totals, as it was very clear that the Raptors were also going to cover their spread of 6.5 points as road favorites.

With the loss, the Hawks are now 4-16 and are just 1-4 in their last five games.
This kind of losses is to be expected from Atlanta. Hawks head coach Mike Budenholzer remains a terrific mentor, but there’s only so much he could do with a lineup that often pins its hopes on how well a guy named Dewayne Dedmon would play.
With the Hawks on a rebuild, this isn’t likely the last time we’ll see the team get burned to a crisp on the court.
