Now Brooklyn Nets forward Taurean Prince sent his farewell message to the Atlanta Hawks — the team where he spent his first three years as a pro.

Prince took it to Instagram to thank the city of Atlanta for embracing him since day one. He also gave a heartfelt shout-out to the organization's owners.

Last week, the Nets sent guard Allen Crabbe and two first-round picks to the Hawks for Prince and a second-round pick. With the deal, Brooklyn cleared Crabbe's 18.5 million salary for the 2019-2020 season, giving them the cap space to sign two max-level contracts this summer.

Prince was the 12th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. In his time with the Hawks, the 25-year-old forward developed into a nice 3-and-D player. Last season, he averaged 13.5 points, 3.6 assists, 2.1 rebounds and 1.0 steal through 55 games. He also hit 2.2 3-pointers per game on 5.7 attempts.

Given his 6-foot-8, 22o-pound frame, Prince is well-capable of playing the shooting guard, small forward and power forward positions. He has been tagged as a major steal in the trade, noting that he would fit perfectly with Kenny Atkinson's system.

Whether the Nets won the trade or not is a matter of wait-and-see, but Prince definitely adds value to the blossoming Nets squad.
