Ever since Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young and Dallas Mavericks point-forward Luka Doncic were traded for each other in the 2018 NBA draft, people have had never-ending comparisons between the two guards. It seems, however, that both the Hawks and Mavs won the exchange.

Both players represented their teams in the Rising Stars Challenge in Chicago on Friday night. And one particular moment during the game was when Doncic attempted and made a half-court heave in front of Young.

Speaking to reporters after the contest, Young revealed that he actually challenged Luka to shoot from half-court — which explains why both of them went crazy when they saw the shot go in.

“That moment with Luka… I was the one who told him to shoot it half-court… ‘You’d better shoot this half-court shot. He did, it went in. It’s just a crazy moment, so that was fun,” the Hawks star explained, per Callie Caplan of the Dallas Morning News.

With regards to the game overall, Trae emphasized that he enjoyed it, especially with the”fun moments” they had. The Hawks guard also gave a shoutout to Miles Bridges, who had “several highlights” in the game.

Bridges led Team USA to a 151-131 win over Team World, finishing with 20 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals. Trae, himself, racked up 18 points and seven assists.

Meanwhile, Doncic finished with 16 points for Team World in a losing effort. Canadian guard RJ Barrett led the squad with a game-high 27 points.

Trae Young and Luka Doncic would barely get rest after Friday, however, as both were selected as All-Star starters and will again play on Sunday. The Mavs’ MVP candidate and the Hawks sharpshooter will be on opposing teams once more, with Young playing for Team Giannis and Doncic on Team LeBron.
