Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young not only torched the Golden State Warriors on Friday night. He also set a new 3-point record that not even Dubs superstar Stephen Curry was able to do.

Young, who exploded for 33 points in the 121-110 win, banked his 700th career triple in the contest. In the process, he became the youngest player (23 years, 187 days old) in NBA history to reach such landmark feat. He is also the fourth-fastest player to record such number, needing just 272 games to make it, via Hawks PR.

Trae Young has always been compared to Stephen Curry, and for a good reason. They both love shooting triples, and their ability to make those long-range bombers at a high rate make them lethal opponents and really difficult to guard.

With Curry out for the Warriors on Friday, Young had all the spotlight for himself. Klay Thompson did his best to carry the Dubs and show Trae that he can't be too complacent even with his Splash Brother out. In the end, however, Young and the Hawks had the last laugh.

The 23-year-old sharpshooter dropped 33 points on 12-of-20 shooting from the field–including 4-of-9 from the three-point line. He also had 15 assists in the contest, as he made sure to get his teammates involved when the Warriors focused their defense on him.

Young and the Hawks are not having an ideal season, and it's quite a shocker that they only have a 37-37 record so far after their East Finals run in 2020-21. By the looks of it, though, the team seems to be peaking at the right time.
