Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young might not be playing postseason basketball, but he's got another reason to be absolutely ecstatic. On Thursday, Young had his first child and took to Twitter to announce the heartwarming news.

A baby boy named Tydus Reign Young. What a moment for the Hawks guard. Back in December, he also proposed to his girlfriend Shelby Miller.

Trae is coming off another fantastic season for Atlanta, but he was totally shut down in the first round by the Miami Heat as they knocked off the Hawks in just five games. The All-Star averaged just 15.4 points, six assists and five rebounds in that series while shooting a putrid 18% from downtown.

The Hawks really struggled in 2021-22 though and barely made it into the postseason after progressing through the play-in tournament. There is expected to be some major changes within the organization this summer too, with Young about the only player who isn't going to be available in trade talks.

For now, Trae Young will be focusing on learning how to become a father and to be honest, it'll probably make him an even better player for the Hawks. That's exactly what happened for Fred VanVleet during the 2019 title run while Derrick White is also playing out of his mind right now for the Celtics after having a child recently.

Dad life is evidently a benefit.
