Trae Young hugged Kobe Bryant prior to his matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers, quickly taking him back to memory lane as he shared a picture with him years ago as part of his involvement in The Academy, a Nike predecessor to Bryant's Mamba Sports Academy.

The Atlanta Hawks point man noted he's just as excited to welcome his daughter Gigi (Gianna) Bryant soon.

Young is one of many NBA players that have met the stars of the game well prior to going pro, either as part of their summer camps or during other high-profile events.

Gigi Bryant is quickly rising as a potential stud in the game, and her trajectory to the WNBA seems to be well in its way. Gigi has been a longtime fan

“I was told earlier this morning that he was coming to watch me with his daughter,” said Young, according to ESPN's Baxter Holmes. “It was crazy, because he told me his daughter is a huge fan of mine and I'm one of her favorite players. It's kind of crazy, because I'll be watching her highlights, too.”

Young is just as relatable as Stephen Curry, who has also had his steady share of fans due to his small frame and his shooting ability — two things that are easier to emulate by the average person that the high-flying feats of giants like LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The Hawks point man is inspiring Gigi, just like one day Gigi could inspire lots of boys and girls, the same way his father did during a 20-year career in the league.
