Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young has quickly risen as one of the league's most potent scorers. As such, he has been matched up with the toughest defenders in the NBA. Via Twitter, a fan asked Young who are the top three best defenders out there. The Hawks stalwart didn't hesitate to answer.

For the Hawks' sophomore, the top three defenders in the league are Jrue Holiday of the New Orleans Pelicans, Kawhi Leonard of the Los Angeles Clippers, and Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors.

The players the Hawks' All-Star listed are certainly the cream of the crop when it comes to locking down their assignment. Holiday has been selected into the All-Defensive Teams twice. Since stepping into the league, defense has been his primary asset. Apart from being one of the best shooters in league history, Thompson has slowly risen as one of the toughest perimeter defenders out there. Last season, he made it to the All-Defensive Second Team for the first time in his career, forging his name as not just a pure shooter, but a very capable defender as well.

Before being the great two-way player that he is today, Leonard was a defensive stopper for the San Antonio Spurs. He has two Defensive Player of the Year trophies in his shelf, as well as five All-Defensive Team selections. He also led the league in steals in 2015. Among the three, perhaps Leonard has the most impressive resume.

The Hawks' franchise player still has tons to learn as he moves on with his career. But being the great scorer that he already is, he definitely knows what he's talking about. The three players he mentioned will lock you down.
