Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young did not put on the show some may have expected in his first three-point shootout, and the sophomore sensation was quick to acknowledge his cold performance on Twitter soon after the contest.

Trae has made the sixth most threes in the NBA this season. He's also hit the second most shots from 30 or more feet, which some thought might provide an advantage with the new contest rules that involve two 30-footers per turn. Young was unable to capitalize though: He hit just 15 threes in his first and only turn (including 0-2 from the extra-deep Mountain Dew Zone)—the lowest score of the night.

Young is set to make his All-Star debut on Sunday, voted in as a starter in just his second season. Boosted by his prolific three-point shooting, he's putting up 29.7 points and 9.2 assists per game.

He should have plenty of cracks to redeem himself in future three-point competitions.
