Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young just made one random fan extremely happy with his 42-point outburst against the Chicago Bulls on Friday. A bettor decided to place a parlay on Young and Bulls All-Star Zach LaVine going off for 40 points each on Friday, and fortunately for him, both stars delivered.

Young caught wind of the bet as well as the man's significant winnings and the Hawks guard has taken to Twitter to share his two-word reaction to this awesome development:

We all know how both Young and LaVine could go off on any given night. These are two of the most potent scorers in the league today. However, not many would have wagered on both men dropping at least 40 points apiece against each other. Well, one man did and he was rewarded handsomely for his valor.

While the Hawks himself is adamant that this was a “smart bet,” it wasn't exactly a fool-proof wager. Then again, with the benefit of hindsight (and a cash prize of $44,000) you would have to agree with his statement here.

Young and LaVine went at it on Friday night, with neither man willing to give in an inch. Young finished with 42 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists, and it was his heroics that led to the Hawks escaping with a 120-108 win over the Bulls.

In terms of the individual battle, however, it was LaVine that emerged victorious. He dropped a cool 50 points on Young and the Hawks to go along with seven triples, eight rebounds, and five assists.

It was a battle for the ages, and for one particular man, a wager that he will remember for the rest of his life.
