This past season, Trae Young put on a show in Atlanta. The Hawks only won 29 games, but Young showed the entire league he’s going to be a star in the NBA for years to come.
In 81 games in 2018-19, Young averaged 19.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 8.1 assists while shooting 41.8 percent from the field, 32.4 percent from beyond the arc and 82.9 percent from the free-throw line. The 20-year-old recorded 30 double-doubles and one triple-double.
Dallas Mavericks point-forward Luka Doncic won the 2019 Rookie of the Year award. Doncic had a better overall season than Young, who got off to a slow start, but then turned it on and never looked back.
Hawks fans are expecting big things from Young next season. Atlanta’s roster is headlined by Young, John Collins, Kevin Huerter, Jabari Parker, Evan Turner and rookies De’Andre Hunter and Cam Reddish.
The Hawks are going to go as far as Young can guide them in 2019-20. Young’s 2K20 rating will increase throughout the season as long as he’s playing well.
