Multiple reports have indicated that there's trouble in paradise within the Atlanta Hawks, as its two promising players Trae Young and John Collins are reportedly not seeing eye-to-eye this season. Young finally addressed those rumors on Thursday, denying any discord between him and the high-flying forward (via Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports).

“Of course if there’s anything out there publicly, I always go directly to [that person]. As for the John [Collins] incident, me and him talked about it as soon as it got out the next day and we were both confused. It just got out and it was over a regular film session. So there’s no beef or anything in there to begin with. There hasn’t been any locker room issues on my side. Anything that people were saying about locker room issues, there hasn’t been one. It’s all about our team and how we’ve been trying to get better in film sessions.”

Earlier this month, Trae Young and John Collins were reportedly involved in verbal sparring during a Hawks film session. Collins was incensed by Young holding on to possessions too long and mismanaging the clock, while also being guilty of throwing up heaves early in the shot clock. The 6-foot-9 big was also reportedly unhappy with coach Lloyd Pierce's decision to center the bulk of Hawks' offense to the trigger-happy point guard.

This came in the midst of ATL's eight-game skid this month. It is worth noting that Young was ice cold during those ugly stretch of losses. The Hawks have bounced back since and have gone 3-2 in their last five outings. Young has also bounced back from his slump, recording 26.2 points, 8.8 assists, and 4.2 rebounds in 17 games so far.
