Atlanta Hawks swingman Vince Carter is in his final season and fans are enjoying the sight of him playing in an NBA arena while they still can.
The epitome of longevity and durability, the 42-year-old eight-time All-Star moved to 4th place all-time in career games played, passing Utah Jazz legend John Stockton. Vinsanity suited up for his 1,505th regular-season game in Atlanta's 122-112 defeat at the hands of the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday.

With 52 games still to be played in the Hawks' season, Carter is expected to overtake Dirk Nowitzki at the third spot who played in 1,522 contests throughout his 21-year career. Carter is unlikely to beat Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's record of 1,560 games. Robert Parish, meanwhile, sits at the top, having played a remarkable 1,611 games.
Article Continues BelowAt a time where most veterans past their prime opt to “ring chase” and sign up with contenders, Carter has taken an unconventional route, opting to sign short-term deals with rebuilding teams in his final years. After three seasons with the Grit N' Grind Memphis Grizzlies from 2014-17, Carter joined the youth-laden Sacramento Kings the following year and willingly accepted a mentorship role to the team's young core.
He did the same when he joined the Hawks last season and surprised everyone by re-signing with the team in the offseason after announcing that this will indeed be his final year. One of the most prominent faces of the league in the early 2000s when he put the Toronto Raptors on the map, Carter has averages of 17.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game in a career that spans 22 seasons.
Despite not having a championship to boot, Carter has certainly accumulated a career worthy of the Hall of Fame.
