The burden of being the number overall pick is hard to carry and now Zaccharie Risacher has to do that. He is coming into an Atlanta Hawks squad that has fallen short of making it back to the Eastern Conference Finals since they made it three years ago. The Trae Young-led squad now has the top pick of the 2024 NBA Draft and is ready to make another run. Is their new rookie ready to gun for a deep playoff push this season?

Zaccharie Risacher is ready to turn the Hawks back into contenders. But, that all depends on what he will be able to give the Trae Young-led squad when the season starts. Obviously, he knows his skillsets more than anyone who scouted him in the NBA Draft. He laid what the plan is in trying to help the squad reclaim their lost glory, via Kevin Chouinard of Hawks.com.

“I'm a very versatile player. I feel like I can easily fit into this team. I can't wait to figure out what is going to be my role or my goals, or you know, just to win games,” the first overall pick of the 2024 NBA Draft said.

Risacher has poured his heart and soul in the past years such that his squads in the LNB Pro A could thrive. Bourg got the best version of him leading up to the 2024 NBA Draft. He was able to produce 13.1 points for them an insane 56.6% clip from all three levels of scoring. Not to mention, his outside shot also saw the bottom of the net 56.1% of the time. His run with Bourg in the EuroCup was rounded out with 3.6 rebounds a night.

All of this proves that Trae Young and the Hawks are getting a very versatile player. Risacher also knows that he can offer a lot to this squad. He just has no idea where the coaching staff will plug him in.

“I don't know yet but I can do a lot of things. Defending multiple positions, grabbing some rebounds, finishing strong, being aggressive, and shooting threes obviously. That's part of my game. That's something I need to keep up for helping the team to win next season. I know that we are going to shoot the ball,” he concluded.

Where can Zaccharie Risacher help the Hawks?

The Hawks love their intense offense but they do need to get better at running the break. They only get 13.4 points off it and clearly need to improve because that is only 19th in the league. Risacher's speed compared to other wings in this draft class is unmatched and he could be able to help in that aspect of the game.

Another woe that the Hawks have is not being fairly good at cutting their opponents' passing lanes. This resulted in an average of 28.2 assists per game for whoever faced them. Risacher's ability to track these open opportunities on the floor allows him to be a good fit.

The Hawks are definitely getting someone solid and willing to do anything for entries in the win column.
