Zaccharie Risacher and Alex Sarr were selected No. 1 and 2 overall in the NBA Draft. Both players stem from France as there's been a huge boom of French talent entering the league lately. As a result of both players being the top two picks, San Antonio Spurs star, Victor Wembanyama shared a proud reaction.

Wemby took to social media shortly after the Washington Wizards selected Sarr as the No. 2 overall selection. The Spurs star wrote in French, “It’s France brother” reacting to the NBA Draft.

This is now two years in a row where a French player was selected as the No. 1 overall pick. Last year it was Victor Wembanyama to the Spurs and this year it was Zaccharie Risacher to the Atlanta Hawks. Alex Sarr followed closely behind Risacher as the No. 2 pick this year.

Risacher has the potential to become a star in the league. However, he does need time to develop his game as a shooter. That would ultimately unlock him and give the Hawks a stud player to build around. Leading up to the draft, Zaccharie Risacher averaged 14.3 points and 6.9 rebounds per game during his time with the G-League Ignite.

Meanwhile, Sarr is a well-rounded player who can defend the perimeter and interior. His talents should translate well at the NBA level and is a nice piece for the Wizards' rebuild. If he can improve a bit offensively, then Washington may have just picked up a future superstar.

Can the Spurs build around Victor Wembanyama?

The Spurs are making some nice moves in the NBA Draft reeling in two guards to compliment Victor Wembanyama. First, they selected Stephon Castle out of UConn and then took Rob Dillingham from Kentucky. Both players played as point guards in college and will now play alongside each other in San Antonio.

This is a smart decision from the Spurs. They're essentially hedging their bets by taking two-point guards, as that was one of their biggest needs this offseason. Having a serviceable point guard can truly unlock Victor Wembanyama. Especially if both Castle and Dillingham can be facilitators for the entire team.

San Antonio has a history of winning, as they won five championships with Tim Duncan and company. The franchise hopes to get back to contention with Victor Wembanyama leading the way. So, it's not too crazy to think the Spurs can build a contender sooner, rather than later.
