The list of teams going after Kevin Durant is growing. According to Jeff Schultz of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Atlanta Hawks are going to join the chase for KD.

Oklahoma City may actually the best for Durant. Although the team had a disappointing collapse in the Western Conference Finals, he and his close friend and teammate Russell Westbrook did lead the Thunder through a strong playoff run only a year removed from missing the playoffs after multiple injuries. He also seems to love the city and the fans.

But if Durant does want to leave, why not Atlanta? As Schultz points out, teaming KD with Paul Millsap and Al Horford would make quite a formidable front court (assuming Horford decides in his own free agency period to stay with Atlanta). The Hawks have been a playoff mainstay for years, having clinched a postseason berth for the last nine consecutive season.

Perhaps Kevin Durant is just what they need to win their first Eastern Conference title since 1970 and get back to the NBA Finals.
