Brooklyn Nets shooting guard Joe Harris becomes an unrestricted free agent once the 2020 free agency period begins and it appears he is on the Atlanta Hawks' radar.

According to Sam Amico of Outkick, the Hawks are prepared to make a significant offer to Harris in free agency.

Joe Harris, one of the best 3-point shooters in the NBA, appeared in 69 games for the Nets in 2019-20. He averaged 14.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists while shooting 48.6 percent from the field, 42.4 percent from beyond the arc and 71.9 percent from the free-throw line.

In the 2020 playoffs, where the Nets got swept by the Toronto Raptors in the first round, Harris put up 16.5 points in two games. He didn't play in Games 3 and 4 of the Raptors series after leaving the NBA bubble at Walt Disney World for a non-medical personal matter.

The Hawks need more shooters around Trae Young and John Collins, two of the brightest young players in the NBA. Harris is a terrific catch-and-shoot player and has improved his playmaking skills over the past couple of years. He would be a great addition for Atlanta, a franchise with a lot of cap space this offseason.

Young and the Hawks finished with the second-worst record in the Eastern Conference before the 2019-20 season was suspended in March due to COVID-19. It's going to be interesting to see how the front office handles free agency with all the money they have at their disposal.
