Jabari Parker certainly owes Atlanta Hawks teammate Trae Young an apology after messing up what could have been one of the best assists of the season.

With 8:25 remaining in the third quarter of the Hawks’ home game against the Sacramento Kings on Friday, Young threw a perfect no-look, behind the back feed to Parker who had good position underneath.

Parker, who usually throws down impressive dunks with ease, opted to go for a lay-up and flubbed an extremely high percentage and uncontested shot. He tried to follow his own miss with a tip-in but also failed to convert on that as well.

The Hawks eventually fell to Kings, 109-121, with Parker pitching in 25 points, eight boards, and two assists.

Parker is slowly regaining his rhythm in his first year in Atlanta, norming averages of 15.1 points and 4.6 rebounds. He is expected to assume the starting forward position in the coming weeks, with Jason Collins out with a lengthy suspension.
