Atlanta Hawks Trae Young has written the NBA more letters than minutes he has logged in on the floor of a regular season game in the league. Well, it’s actually just one letter, but in any case, it shows just how ecstatic the former Oklahoma Sooners hotshot is about his future in the NBA.

In the video, Young said that he was able to get to where he is today because of the effort and work he put in and not due to luck. The video, which is only a 1:20 minute long, also features a montage of clips from his days in college and some moments captured off the court.

Young is only 19. No one knows what exactly lies ahead of him in the NBA, but he’s definitely embracing the challenge. Selected fifth overall by the Dallas Mavericks before getting traded to the Hawks in a draft-day deal last June, Young has every opportunity to learn and polish his game in Atlanta, where there won’t be much pressure to win games just yet.

Trae Young is the projected point guard starter for the Hawks next season with Jeremy Lin backstopping him, though, that was not exactly clear until the Hawks traded Dennis Schroder to the Oklahoma City Thunder last month.

The road is paved for Young to show why he belongs in the NBA. It’s all on him to prove it.
