After spending the last four months sitting out of the league, Andre Iguodala is finally getting his wish. He's going to be shipped to the Miami Heat in order to contend immediately. There are also reports that the Heat are also looking to bring Danilo Gallinari to the team as well.

This trade ends what has been a self-imposed lockout by Iguodala from the Grizzlies. It's been known from the moment they got him that Iggy doesn't want to play mentor for the Grizzlies' young players, a move that's proven to be unpopular among Grizzlies fans. Now that he finally got his wish, he told ESPN's Marc J. Spears that he's ready to end his self-imposed ban from the Grizzlies and play with the Heat.

He shared that he's happy to be going to the Heat and playing for one of the Eastern Conference's better teams. He also revealed that he's excited to be playing with Jimmy Butler, one of the best wing players in the league today.

“I'm really excited about that. Jimmy Butler obviously proved to be one of those guys who were looked at as different but very well-respected in terms of the passion and hard work that he brings out to the game. I feel like his temperament and values that he have really resonates with the Miami Heat.”

He also noted that he was excited to play with the team's young guys, especially with Bam Adebayo. His words of praise for Bam is a direct jab at his former Memphis teammates.

Now that he got what he asked for, it's up to Iggy to step up and prove that rust hasn't completely taken over his body. It'd be great for the Heat if he averaged close to his output with the Golden State Warriors last season of 5.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.2 assists.
