Miami Heat big man Bam Adebayo added a bit of spice to Wednesday's upcoming matchup against the Boston Celtics. According to the All-Star forward/center, he believes that Boston continues to hold a grudge against the Heat, which stems from their fiery Eastern Conference Finals series last season.
Adebayo believes in the revenge narrative, and he thinks the Cs will be highly motivated to get a win over the Heat when these two sides face off on Wednesday:
“I feel like they’re going to come out with the same intensity that the Bucks did just for the simple fact that we knocked them off in the Eastern Conference finals,” Adebayo said, via Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald. “They had to watch us play in the Finals, so of course they’re going to have a grudge. That’s human nature. But it’s our job to go out there and counteract that and bring our intensity.”
Fair point from Bam here.
Adebayo also managed to bring up the Milwaukee Bucks, who the Heat battled in back-to-back games in late December. Milwaukee dominated the Heat in their first matchup, coming away with an impressive 144-97 blowout win. Miami was able to get them back the following night, though, 119-108, evening their regular season series at 1-1.
Adebayo and Co. certainly learned a thing or two after being absolutely blown out by the Bucks, so they will likely have this in mind when they battle the Celtics on Wednesday.
Miami and Boston face off twice in the span of five days, with the Celtics hosting the Heat on Sunday.
