Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade may be coming off the bench, but the future Hall of Famer knows what the team needs from him.

Wade, who is retiring from the NBA after this season, says the Heat need him to be a leader and clutch player in the fourth quarter, something he's been his entire basketball life.

“Each night is different,” Wade said, via Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald. “But I understand what this team needs from me no matter if I’m 37 or in my 16th year. This team needs for me to lead, they need for me to make plays in the fourth, they need for me to be a leader and a voice. And that’s what I do.

“They can count on me knowing that, ‘Listen, we know when the game matters, we have somebody out there that we can trust that’s going to get something for us.' “

In 56 games this season for the Heat — all off the bench — Dwyane Wade is averaging 14.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists. The 13-time All-Star and three-time NBA champion is shooting 43.8 percent from the field, 32.1 percent from beyond the arc and 66.7 percent from the free-throw line.

The Heat's two best players are probably Josh Richardson and Justise Winslow, but once the fourth quarter hits and it's winning time, everyone knows the ball goes to D-Wade.
