Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo did something on Tuesday that not even LeBron James and Dwyane Wade could accomplish. In fact, no other teammates in Miami Heat history had ever triple doubles in the same game. Until now.

In a 135-121 overtime win against the Atlanta Hawks, Miami's third-year center Bam Adebayo dropped a career-high 30 points to go along with 11 rebounds and a career-high 11 assists. Butler, the Heat's All-Star offseason acquisition dropped 20 points, a career-high 18 rebounds and 10 assists.

The Heat would go on a 22-0 run to stay in the game against Atlanta and with the win, move to 18-6 on the year — good for third place in the Eastern Conference.

As a whole, Miami has been one of the most surprising team's in the season so far. The Heat finished last year with less than 40 wins and even with the addition of a player of Butler's caliber, we're only expected by most to be a lower-tier playoff team in the Eastern Conference.

Butler and Adebayo are a big part of that success. Adebayo, the 14th pick in the 2017 NBA Draft is having a breakout season for Miami. In 23 games, the 6-foot-9 big man is averaging career highs across the board with 14.6 points, 10.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists.

With the Heat getting rid of Hassan Whiteside in the past year, Adebayo has thrived as a full time starter in Miami.
