You cannot NBA fault fans for their loyalty to their idols. This was particularly the case for a Jimmy Butler fan who literally flew 4,405 miles just to see the Miami Heat star play a regular-season game. You can only imagine the heartbreak of this young supporter the moment he realized that Butler wasn't even going to play.
Butler was a late scratch for Tuesday's matchup against the Boston Celtics. Unfortunately for one kid who made a total effort to watch him play live, his dream was shattered right before tip-off. The heartbreaking video of the exact moment the fan found out that Butler wasn't playing has since gone viral on social media:

That's just brutal. I can only imagine that that's his mom with him in the video who confirmed the news to her son. Imagine spending all that money and making all that effort just to realize that you weren't going to see your idol play. That's just heartbreaking.
The good news here is that this video is now making its rounds on social media. It's no fun having your misery broadcasted all over Twitterverse, but hopefully, this clip somehow reaches Jimmy Butler. The Heat star is a pretty stand-up guy, so I'm sure he's going to go out of his way to reach out to this fan once he finds out about this disheartening story.
The kid deserves to get at least a meet and greet and a photo with his idol, so the Heat and Jimmy Butler better step up here.
