After dropping several sneak-peeks over the past few weeks, the Miami Heat officially unveiled their Miami Vice-themed City Edition uniforms on Tuesday.
Nike's City Edition uniforms are meant to have flavor, but also a significant meaning. Miami's new gear certainly has both.

“The Vice uniform is our ode to the City of Miami, its distinctive history, its iconic place in the annals of popular culture,” Heat executive vice president and chief marketing officer Michael McCullough recently said. “For years we've talked about creating a uniform featuring vibrant, warm colors that embodies Miami's intrinsic uniqueness and one that would be instantly recognizable to our fans. Vice is something special and we're ecstatic to share it with Heat Nation.”

“Vice starts with the classic Heat silhouette from 1988, replaces franchise red and orange with laser fuchsia and blue gale, and features the original Miami Arena script across the chest.”
The Heat will debut their new jerseys on Thursday night when they face off against the Kings inside American Airlines Arena. They'll wear the new kits in 15 games, including 11 at home.
Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports that a full line of Vice-themed accessory gear, including hats and t-shirts, will be made available to the public on Wednesday.
What's a flashy new uniform without new shoes to go with it, right? The Heat have also announced their partnership with custom sneaker designer Dominic Chambrone to create a unique Vice Air Jordan 1.
“Pulling in design elements from the limited-edition jersey and inspiration from the iconic Vice-era, we handcrafted an exclusive, one-of-a-kind Air Jordan 1 to debut in collaboration with the Miami Heat Vice campaign,” Chambrone told sun-sentinel.com. “The classic AJ1 shoe has been elevated with premium white Italian tumbled leather and intricate detail including a white quilted Japanese plonge leather lining and teal and pink Italian goat stripping — highlighting the new jersey design on the wing panel, toe panel and on the swoosh.”
The Sun-Sentinel reports that the Vice Air Jordan 1's will be placed on display at the Court Culture Store inside American Airlines Arena. Just five sets of the new shoe will be created, according to their report, and Heat fans will have an opportunity to win a pair through sweepstakes and contests throughout the remainder of this season.
