Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra was at the helm during LeBron James' stint with the team when he won his first and second ring. So it's not really a surprise that Spoelstra knows King James' every tendency on offense.

The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Heat faced against each other Tuesday night at the American Airlines Arena. The Heat won by a convincing margin, 98-79. LeBron just finished with 18 points and had six turnovers. He +/- was -19,

The video below shows how Spoelstra effectively shut down James:

As seen in the video, everytime LeBron brings the ball up, all eyes are on him. They sag off LeBron a bit in pick-and-roll situations. Though LeBron has steadily improved his jump shot, he has always been a pass-first player. They are more concerned at LeBron getting his teammates going.

After the win, several Heat players commented on their defensive effort. Per TSN, Dwyane Wade said:

“We did a great job,” Wade said. “One of our best defensive games since I've been here, for sure.

Guard Goran Dragic for his part said:

“This shows the type of defensive team we can be,” Heat guard Goran Dragic said.

LeBron usually adjusts in-game when faced with a defense like the one he faced with the Heat. Yet it seems that the Heat were two steps ahead of him. Every time he finds a new way to attack, Spoelstra and his players manage to craft a tougher wall for him to break.

The video should be studied by coaches and teams who are about to face the Cavs. Building a wall will stop anybody in their tracks. LeBron, the greatest player in the game today, is no exception.
