The Charlotte Hornets made a few interesting moves during this offseason in the NBA draft and free agency. Still, a few Hornets trades should be on the horizon, but more on that in a second.

Bringing in one of the better scorers in the draft in James Bouknight and a talented rim runner in Kai Jones adds Charlotte's young core. Signing Kelly Oubre and Ish smith could be huge for this young squad, bringing veteran leadership to a team lacking experience.

However, the Hornets are not ready to compete for a title yet, but a couple trades for some established stars could help them get closer to being a contender.

Potential Hornets Trades

Bradley Beal

It is safe to say that the Washington Wizards might take a step back this season after dealing Russell Westbrook to the Los Angeles Lakers. They gave up the triple-double king for Kyle Kuzma and a few others, but they do not stack up to the production that Brodie usually provides.

Bradley Beal can't be to thrilled about the direction the organization is heading in. If he is made available, the Hornets could be an ideal landing spot for Beal. As one of the most talented scorers in the league, it will be a hand in glove fit for him. He has shown success playing with talented playmakers in the past, like John Wall and Westbrook, so it'll be an easy transition to play with a young star in Ball.

CJ McCollum

The Portland Trail Blazers have been stuck in neutral for the past few years. During the offseason, a lot of questions surrounded Damian Lillard, but everyone should pay just as much attention to his backcourt mate.

CJ McCollum's name has been shuffling around the rumor mill for him to go to Philadelphia, Dallas, and a few others. However, Charlotte would make a lot of sense. McCollum struggled to stay healthy the past few seasons, but is an impressive two-way player when he is available. There are times we saw him carry the offense when Lillard was struggling on some nights. He would fit right in with LaMelo Ball and would have the opportunity to make an All-star game out East.

Kristaps Porzingis

Everyone knows that Kristaps Porzingis was not too thrilled about his role in Rick Carlisle's offense last season with the Dallas Mavericks. With Jason Kidd now coaching the Mavs, as Carlisle is now with the Indiana Pacers, the offensive schemes are sure to change.

Luka Doncic will still have the ball a majority of the time. In turn, Porzingis might find himself in a similar spot as last season. A trade to Charlotte can help Kristaps return to his glory days. A dominate shot blocker and a knock-down shooter is the perfect running mate for LaMelo and the rest of the squad.
