The Charlotte Hornets rolled into Beantown and did something they haven't done since April 2016. They beat the Boston Celtics, 111-102. That is huge for the team, of course, but maybe even bigger for former Celtics players in Terry Rozier and Gordon Hayward.

Rozier began his career with the Celtics and Hayward was a huge offseason acquisition in the 2017 free agency. But since joining the Hornets, they had never beaten their former squad, so tonight had to feel good for those two. Rozier had a game-high 28 points and dished out 10 assists.

After the game, Miles Bridges said they dedicated the victory to Rozier and Hayward (via Bally Sports Hornets).

“We did this for you (Terry) and Gordon. We just want to continue to have fun and keep winning.”

Bridges, who had 22 points, also has never beaten the Celtics in their building, so it definitely helps to have a little more motivation to get the job done. Hayward was in foul trouble most of this game and finished with only five points. However, the monkey is now finally off his back, plus he got to play his first game in Boston since his departure.

The Hornets have made all sorts of milestones this season. They'll likely continue to do so.
