The Charlotte Hornets released a promotional video on Tuesday afternoon, revealing the design of the retro court that the team will play on during their series of “Classic Night” games this season.

In addition to the old school court, Hornets players will suit up in a new set of throwback uniforms from Nike.

According to the team, the Hornets will play a minimum of six “Classic Night” games.

The games are meant to celebrate the history of the organization and feature music and game presentation elements designed to take fans back to the Charlotte Coliseum of the late ‘80s and early ‘90s.

The Hornets will honor several of their all-time greats during these special evenings, including Muggsy Bogues, Dell Curry, Larry Johnson, Alonzo Mourning and Glen Rice.

“Classic Night” games will feature giveaways, including bobbleheads and T-shirts, that highlight some of the great players and moments in Hornets history.

Earlier this summer, team president & vice chairman Fred Whitfield made an official statement with regards to the upcoming games.

“We have a great series of activities lined up to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Hornets during the 2018-19 season,” Whitfield said. “We believe our fans will truly enjoy this look back at the history of NBA basketball in Charlotte and the commemoration of the moments and people that have made the Hornets what they are today.”

Join us in congratulating the Hornets for 30 years of memories in the NBA.
