Gordon Hayward had another memorable performance for the Charlotte Hornets on Monday, as he led his squad to a 109-88 blowout win against the New York Knicks. Hayward has been in an absolute tear of late, which prompted what appears to be a bit of shade-throwing towards his former team, the Boston Celtics, in his post-game interview.

After the win, Hayward expressed just how much fun he's having in Charlotte:

“It's been a lot of fun playing with my new teammates and under this coaching staff,” Hayward said, via ESPN. “I'm having a great time. As long as we keep doing our jobs and playing hard every night I think the wins and losses will take are of themselves.”

Hayward did not stop there. The 30-year-old went on to reiterate how he's enjoying life with the Hornets:

“When the basketball is moving and you're getting open shots and easy buckets it's just fun,” Hayward added. “It's hard to guard. … I have some great teammates who can really pass the ball.”

Quite frankly, we might be reading too much into this. This could be Hayward just expressing how he's been able to adjust well with the Hornets, after joining the squad in the offseason as a free agent. Then again, it could be more than that. After all, the former All-Star didn't exactly have the best years of his career in Boston.

Hayward finished Monday's with 34 points on 11-of-17 shooting, including 2-of-2 from distance and 10-of-10 from the charity stripe. He also logged three rebounds, three assists, and a block in 35 minutes of action.
