The comeback season of Dwight Howard continues. The Charlotte Hornets' new man in the middle is back to having that certain aggression, defensive focus, and double-double consistency that once made him a year-to-year MVP candidate.

Wednesday night, Howard's “revenge tour” hit his hometown of Atlanta, and boy did he ever make his presence felt. He had a type of play that may leave you with a whole bunch of facial expressions.

The posterization happened on the final stretches of the fourth quarter, when the Hornets pretty much have the victory in the bag, as they were up by 17 with under five minutes to go.

It appeared that Charlotte was just trying to melt the clock, until Howard and Kemba Walker suddenly spotted a hole on the defense. The two basically did a simple give-and-go, and it was enough to catch the Hawks' awkward-looking 3-2 zone off balance. It resulted with Hawks center, Mike Muscala, having to face a charging Dwight Howard, whose eyes probably lit up after seeing how wide open the lane was. The slam was as vicious as anything we had seen all season, and it's worthy of several replays.

D12 had a successful return in the ATL. He scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for his 32nd double-double of the season. It was a good pairing to Walker's 36 points and franchise record-setting nine 3-pointers.

The Hornets, however, still have a mountain to climb if they want to reach the playoffs. At 21-29, they are only 10th in the Eastern Conference standings and five games out of the eighth spot.
