It certainly must be interesting to play for the basketball team owned by the greatest player of all-time and that's the position in which Charlotte Hornets cornerstone guard Kemba Walker has found himself since entering the NBA during the 2011-12 campaign.

So, what is the best advice Walker has ever been given from Jordan?

Apparently, it was something very simple: just be yourself.

Walker went on to say that when he first entered the league, he was careful not to rub anyone the wrong way and tried to fill the role of a rookie but Jordan told him that he drafted him for a reason and to stop worrying about what others might feel about him.

It seems like that advice worked, as Walker has developed into one of the best point guards in the game and is having the best season of his career in what also happens to be a contract year.

This season, Walker is averaging a career-high 25.4 points, 5.8 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 1.2 steals over 34.4 minutes per game while shooting 44 percent from the floor, 35.9 percent from three-point range and 81.7 percent from the free-throw line.

The 28-year-old, who played his collegiate basketball at the University of Connecticut, was originally selected by Charlotte with the ninth overall pick of the 2011 NBA Draft.

He has made the All-Star team in each of the last two years.

Walker is set to enter unrestricted free agency for the first time in his career and will unquestionably draw strong interest on the open market.

Will his relationship with the GOAT be enough to keep him in North Carolina?
